Lawn Care Planner
Build a complete, chronological maintenance schedule based on your hardiness zone, grass type, and lawn size. Eliminate the guesswork of when to fertilize, aerate, or overseed.
Methodology & Limitations
This plan schedules tasks based on broad, historical frost-date estimates corresponding to the PHZM API hardiness zone for your ZIP code. It anchors spring tasks to your last frost estimate and fall tasks to your first frost estimate.
These dates are moving targets. Real-world soil temperatures, local precipitation, and unexpected weather fronts shift these windows every year. Do not apply fertilizer to frozen ground, during droughts, or right before a torrential downpour, regardless of what any calendar says.
Always Check Local Regulations
Many municipalities and states restrict the timing and type of lawn fertilizers (e.g., phosphorus bans or summer blackout dates) to protect local waterways. This tool calculates pure mathematical agronomic needs and does not account for your local legal restrictions.
